A GoFundme has been launched by Sallie-Ann Robinson to save the almost one-century old historic home in which she was born. Sallie-Ann is a sixth-generation Daufuskie Islander, born on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina in the home pictured above. She is appealing for help to help her and her family save the historical Gullah house on Daufuskie Island, which has weathered all these years, but is now in danger of being lost.
The building was built around the 1930’s and is in need of restoration. After restoring other historical homes on the island, this family house, which is part of the island's history, is in need of restoration. Sallie says that her grandmother, mother, and she herself - along with many others - were born in this house, which is approaching a century old. She says, "It is an heirloom in our family. I thank you for all that you can give."
